Grade 3/4 Camp

Camp Jungai Recap

Our adventure to Camp Jungai started with a 2-hour bus ride through the windy Yarra Ranges.

Despite a forecast of wild wind and rain, we were greeted with sunny blue skies and warm welcoming smiles from our camp leaders.

As soon as we arrived it was go time, getting into our first activities after getting settled into our cabins of course. A few rounds of rock, paper, and scissors were needed to decide on bottom and top bunks.

Our first-day activities included bushwalking, the low ropes course, possum pull and team initiatives which were all a great way to start our camp adventure. Needless to say, dinner time couldn’t come soon enough. Roast Chicken and potatoes. Delicious!

After an Indigenous Culture session with Auntie which included some storytelling we were well and truly ready for bed.

The next morning it was pretty easy to spot the cabins that got some sleep and those that didn't.

Regardless, we were all ready to dive into our next lot of adventures, canoeing, boomerang decorating and throwing and orienteering, all being added on to the schedule.

After a long and tiresome day we concluded our final night at camp with a talent show and moviehe talent show provided a lot of laughs and applause for those brave enough to get up and entertain us. While we all started the movie, only a third were left at the end as most of us headed to bed, in much need of a good sleep.

As quickly as it had began our time at camp was drawing to an end and while we were all a little tired we didn’t want the fun to stop and were sad to be leaving so soon.

We had such a fun time together at camp and will cherish the memories we have made together.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU CAMPJUNGAI!
