Changes to fees from Term 4

As you may be aware, as of Term 4, 2023 we will be implementing a Search Fee of $5 across all SCECS services. This fee will be charged when parents/carers have not notified the service that their child will be absent from After School Care. There has been some confusion about this new process and we would like to offer some background so families have a full understanding.

Marking the roll at After School Care is the biggest pressure point of the afternoon. We aim to have the entire process completed within 20 minutes so all children on the roll are identified as safe.

It is enormously helpful that parents remember to let us know if their child will be absent from care so we can mark them as absent on the roll prior to the session commencing. When we do not hear from parents in advance, staff need to spend time following up which can cost precious minutes and have child safety implications. The police are called in instances where we are unable to speak to parents. Notifications to your SCECS OSHC service can be made in various ways including:

·         Log in to your Story park Manage account & mark your child absent.

·         Email the service at caringbah.oshc@syd.catholic.edu.au

·         Text the service on 0436 859 354

·         Call the service on 0436 859 354

Your child’s safety is our greatest concern. Ideally, we won’t need to charge a Search Fee as we are advised of all absences in advance.
