Unit 3 & 4 Science Examinations

The first of our final VCE examinations began on Friday, with students sitting the Unit 3 and 4 Biology exam. Psychology, Chemistry and Physics are fast approaching!

This can be a time where students feel anxious, nervous, scared and even excited. Remember – it’s ok to feel all of these emotions and many more! But we also want you to remember that you have done the work, you have completed the practice exams, you have finished the SACs, you have been up during SWOTVAC to put it all together, and that your teachers (all of them, not just your Unit 3/4 teachers!) wish you all the best as you embark upon these examinations. Avoid the negative self-talk and just focus on the things you are doing well. Whatever happens, it will become a learning experience which will help you in future years.

On behalf of the Science learning area, we wish you the very best!

Year 7 Science – Classification

The class inspected various specimens that fit into different categories, including birds, amphibians and various others. We needed to look at the external features of the animals or bacteria to categorize each of them into either vertebrate, or invertebrate and their subcategories.

Today in Science we looked at specimens from different kingdoms/phylum's. We were all very fascinated by the creatures in the jars. We observed their features and what makes them different to other organisms. It was very interesting to study; we are very lucky to observe these.
