THE ANNUAL VOCAL SOIREE

Last week our vocal students took to the stage in the college theatre to perform their pieces at the 'Vocal Soiree' in front of a beautiful audience. The night was directed by Mr. Nguyen and emceed by the very entertaining Jorja S. (Yr 11

Students from Year 7 through to Year 11 gave some really moving and energetic renditions of songs from all genres.  A night of solos, duos and some smaller groups accompanied by Mr. Nguyen, James P. and Setiya M. on piano, in the elegantly lit college theatre, made this a really special night.

We want to congratulate each and every student who took part in this event. We know how much courage it takes to get up on stage and sing in front of an audience and you all should feel so proud of yourselves for working through your nervous energy and singing so well. Well done to you all!

NEVR ROOKIE BAND WORKSHOP

On Friday the NEVR held their 'Rookie Band Workshop' combining junior and beginner students from across the region to play some music together. Ten of our students went along to the event, accompanied by Mr. McGuffie. The students participated in a workshop and were then invited to make a recording of their performances at the end of the session. It was pleasing to see how positive and engaged the students were and we thank them all for the way they represented the college on what was a really fun day out.
