CURRICULUM FOCUS

Writing: This week in Writing we will be applying our knowledge of narratives to recreate a known text. 

We will be using a story that we already know and changing it to become our own story. We will be doing this by changing the title of the story, the characters, setting, problem and solution. 

VOCABULARY

Narrative: A made up story that includes;

-A title and author

-Characters

-Setting

-Problem

-Solution

Recreate: To create something in a new way

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Ask your child to choose a book from home, their library book or a take home book. 

Together with your child read the book.

Discuss with your child how the story could be changed to become their own story e.g. if the story was Cinderella the wicked step sisters could be changed into nice step brothers, instead of losing a shoe she could lose special necklace etc.
