CURRICULUM FOCUS

In Reading this week we will be continuing to develop our questioning skills. We will be focusing on asking questions after reading a text. 

Sometimes when we finish reading a text we may still have questions/wonderings about the book we have just read. We can record these questions down to think about.

VOCABULARY

Questioning: Something that we ask to gain more information. When we write down questions they finish with a question mark.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

With your child read their take home books or books that you have at home. Your child may also like to read with a family friend or family member. Encourage your child to share with you any questions they still may have after finishing reading a book. 

Ask your child to share with you what they think the answer could be to these questions and why these questions came to mind.
