We are now in the middle of Term 4, and things are getting very busy. Students are juggling classwork, projects, carol rehearsals, swimming, the colour run, and getting close to the end of the year activities. It’s an exciting time, but it can also be tiring. Here are a few simple ways to help children stay calm and focused as we head towards the end of the year.
Keeping stress in check as school gets busier, some students may feel a bit overwhelmed.
A few practical habits can help:
Check in with your child and let them talk about anything that’s on their mind.
Balancing work and rest - kids still need time to switch off, even in a busy term.
Show them that it’s okay to pause and take a break when things feel like “a lot.”
Take some time to notice how far your child/ren have come. Term 4 is a great time to look at what your children have achieved this year:
Moments where they became more confident or independent.
Recognising progress helps children stay motivated as we head into the last few weeks of the school year. It has been a wonderful year, and with support from both home and school, students can finish feeling steady, confident and proud of what they’ve achieved. We are looking forward to celebrating their hard work and accomplishments in the weeks to come.
Take care and have a lovely, restful weekend.
