VPC News

During the term, VPC students as part of their Personal Development and Skills unit, participated in a Community Walk with students from the Kurnai Young Parents Program (KYPP) and the students from the FLO campus. The community walk followed a 3-hour route starting from the Churchill Neighbourhood House through various stations and ending at the University Campus. The aim of the community walk was to improve physical and mental health through exercise while building social connections and promoting local wellbeing.
The Year 10 Pathways class have been participating in the CoRE Program, organised and facilitated by Blue Light Victoria over the past eight weeks in Term 4. The students have gained confidence in understanding the value of community and the various community connections such as the Police and Emergency Services. The students attended the Moe Neighbourhood House to prepare lunch for community members and wrap Christmas gifts for families. The Year 10 Pathways students also helped in sorting out food items for community members in need. The essence of the visit to the Moe Neighbourhood House was to challenge the negative stereotypes of young people being perceived as a risk to the community.

A big highlight for Term 4 was the graduation ceremony of VPC Year 12 students which took place on the 19th of November at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) in Traralgon. We wish all our VPC Year 12 students the very best in their future aspirations.
Have a wonderful break and happy holidays.
