From the Principal

Just a note for families that the school will be closed on Monday, 1st of December for 2026 School Planning.

Next week Mrs Danielle George will be on leave and Mr Mc will be off site most of the week (Year 3 excursion on Monday and then 5/6 Camp on Wednesday - Friday). While Declan and Danielle are off site, Mrs Belinda Saville and Mrs Donna Anderton will be assuming responsibility of the school. Mr Mc will be attending to emails during this time.

Year 3 students are on an excursion to CERES on Monday (24th). We are asking students to please be at school by 8:30am. They will be able to go straight down to class and get prepared to leave school at 8:45am on the dot.

Assembly on Monday (24th) will start at 2:15pm with our Year 4/5 students presenting their Advent Liturgy. Once the Liturgy has concluded we will be running a normal assembly. The Year 3 students will not be at school (due to their excursion), Year 3 students who are presented with an award will receive this on Tuesday afternoon. Parents will be contacted.

Year 5/6 Camp starts on Wednesday (26th), students are to arrive at school at 8:30am. Luggage can be dropped in the Quadrangle outside the Art and Japanese Rooms and then students can head to class for further instructions. Parents are welcome to wait in the Quadrangle to see the students off. Any medication for camp (that is not already at school) can be provided by parents to the designated teacher who will be set up in the Library from 8:30am.

After MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) reviewed all schools on the Bushfire at Risk Register the St Thomas More fire risk rating (BAL score) was recorded at BAL-40. This means for the upcoming bushfire season our school will be closed on any days the have a rating of Extreme or Catastrophic. Families will be given plenty of notice if and when these days occur. I have attached a copy of our current Emergency Management Plan in the "Important Information" Tab. This will be updated over the holidays to match the new information I have just shared.

Year 2 Fun Night!

Our Year 2 Fun Night is being held on Thursday 27th of November here at school.There are more details on Operoo. Please let Grace Hiosan know if you have any questions.

School Jumpers:

Over the last few weeks staff have noticed an increase in non-school jumpers being worn to school. Please note that only school jumpers are to be worn. If there is a short term issue with uniform please email your child's teacher. From next week, children wearing non-school issued jumpers will be asked to take them off.

Uniform can be ordered through Spartan World and delivered to school. The last week for delivery is the week beginning 8th December. The first week for delivery in 2026 is from 28th January.

STM Community Picnic:

Just a reminder for our families that on Thursday 4th of December we are holding our annual STM Community Picnic. Please complete the Operoo so we can have a rough idea of numbers.

Meet your Teacher Morning:

Our annual "Meet your Teacher" morning will be held on Monday, 8th of December at 10:00am. We will have a number of new students who are joining STM in 2026 attending this morning. All of the 2026 teachers including Ms Jessie Prince and Miss Emily Biddle will be present for the morning.

Passing on Ceremony:

The Passing on Ceremony is an important event in the school year. All Year 5 student's families are encouraged to attend as the Year 5 students will be receiving their 2026 Leadership Positions. This year our 2025 Passing on Ceremony will take place on Monday, 8th of December at 2:00pm.

A call for uniforms:

As we approach the end of the year we are putting in a call out for any old uniforms to be donated to the school. These can be dropped in the office so they can be placed in the second hand uniform cupboard.

Year 6 Jumpers - 2026:

We have some cool options for our 2026 Jumpers - these have been sent to all 2026 Year 6 families to vote on the design.
