Indonesian Cultural Day
This year marked our 5th Indonesian Culture Event, where all Indonesian language students from our school came together to celebrate and immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Indonesia.
The event featured vibrant performances, including traditional dances and a fashion show showcasing costumes from five different provinces of Indonesia. Students also tested their knowledge of Indonesian history and culture through a fun and engaging trivia challenge.
The celebration concluded with everyone joining in the lively Poco-Poco dance, a popular group dance from Indonesia, led by our three Year 12 students who have been learning Indonesian since Year 7. It was a joyful and memorable way to end the day, bringing together music, movement, and culture in one spirit of togetherness.
Congratulations Connor
Connor is completing a School-Based Apprenticeship as part of his Senior School pathway. Connor's employer nominated him for an award, and we are pleased to share the news that he received a Bright Rod Run Apprentice Bursary Award recently.
Well done Connor.
Year 9/10 Sport
Recently, Year 9/10 Sport competed in Super Netball, as part of their Sports Extravaganza that has been running all term. All teams did so well that they had to go into an extra time game as the results were all tied up. In the end, "Red's Rippers" came away with the win in a penalty shoot out.
Other sports that have made up this tournament include T-ball, Soccer, Pickleball, and Volleyball.
With only 2 rounds left in the Year 9/10 Sports Extravaganza, "Red's Rippers" are on top of the ladder, closely followed by "Lenny's Legends" with team "Mr Davies" coming in at 3rd.
Personal Development Skills
One of our Pre-Service teachers (Rebecca), took the PDS class into the community to look at the ways in which The Lions and Rotary Clubs contribute to Mount Beauty, our school and the wider community.
