Sapphire Skies 2025 – Astronomy Night!

Last Friday evening, Inverell High School hosted a highly successful Astronomy Night, which drew an impressive crowd of students, families, and community members. Despite a partly cloudy sky, the telescopes were put to good use, and attendees were treated to glimpses of the moon and various celestial highlights. The event created a wonderful atmosphere of curiosity and learning, and it was fantastic to see students engaging so enthusiastically with science beyond the classroom. A sincere thank you to our Science Faculty and the many helpers who made the evening such a success through their planning, setup, and guidance on the night.

Open Girls Cricket

Congratulations to our Open Girls Cricket Team, who recorded a strong win against Coonabarabran High School in their most recent match. The team continues to demonstrate skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship—well done to all players and coaching staff for representing Inverell High with pride.

Department of Education’s Community Charter

A reminder to all families and community members about the Department of Education’s Community Charter, which outlines how schools, parents, and communities can work together respectfully and positively to support student learning and wellbeing. The charter reinforces the shared values of respect, safety, and collaboration that underpin all our interactions. Copies of the charter are available on the NSW Department of Education website and via our school office.

Uniform

I am impressed by the uptake and wearing of the school uniform by our student body.  The school looks amazing, and I would like to ensure this continues.  As we approach the end of the year the expectation is to wear our school uniform every day which  helps brings a sense of belonging and school spirit.

Attendance

Everyone has a role supporting positive school attendance. Regular attendance helps students to:

•           develop a sense of belonging,

•           develop and maintain friendships,

•           be more engaged at school,

•           progress with their learning

•           be more aware of career and life options.

Every day counts. Missing just one day a fortnight can amount to four weeks of lost learning over a year. Over their school life, this can equal one year of missed learning. The information below outlines the responsibilities of key stakeholders
