Year 5/6 VHAP Masterclass

On the 6th and 13th of November, several Year 5 and 6 students participated in the VHAP Maths and English Masterclass at Wheelers Hill PS. 

This was a celebration of their hard work during the term.

VHAP (Victorian High Ability Program) consisted of weekly online VHAP lessons, with the focus on extending their mathematical problem-solving, and writing ability.

The Maths Masterclass offered many activities such as coding algebraic patterns, Pascal's Triangle and an escape room! The English Masterclass was all about the villain’s journey in literature. Why students had to recap series of events in known fables/stories, work collaboratively with other students from network schools, plan and draft a storyboard, create a presentation using Keynote on the iPads, and lastly present their villain's perspective to the entire class.

Overall, the students loved this opportunity to work with others unfamiliar to them.
