Prep Excursion

As part of our “Our Community” learning unit in Concept, our Prep students went on their very first school excursion to Chesterfield Farm. The children were full of excitement, and the sunny weather made it the perfect day for exploring. The bus ride was filled with chatter and anticipation as everyone wondered what adventures awaited them.

When we arrived, the Preps were eager to meet the animals. They fed deer, goats, kangaroos, camels, and horses and enjoyed patting guinea pigs, rabbits, and baby goats.

Everyone had the opportunity to milk Cookie the cow and listen to Farmer Ava give a cow-milking presentation. Students then met sheepdog Scout and watched him in action as he rounded up the sheep with speed and skill.

Students went on an exciting tractor ride, giving everyone a bumpy tour of the farm and a chance to see it from a different perspective.

It was a joyful day full of curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning. The Prep students explored, discovered, and experienced farm life with bravery and enthusiasm. Their first excursion was truly memorable, and they all returned with big smiles and lots of stories to share!
