Principal's Report

Term 2 Week 1
Welcome to Term 2 at St Leonard’s. The term is only a few days in but has already brought a mix of emotions, from the joyful celebrations of Easter to a moment of profound reflection. Easter Sunday's message of new life and renewal resonated deeply within our Christian families as we welcomed the risen Christ. This spirit of fresh starts extended to the energy of a new school term, with teachers eagerly preparing their learning spaces for the students' return and the promise of an exciting term ahead. My first week has been full of excitement and great joy. I am so extremely grateful for the warm welcome I have received and have enjoyed seeing such a wonderful community in action.
Alongside this renewed energy, we also marked the sad passing of the Holy Father, Pope Francis, on Easter Monday. His entire life exemplified dedication to God and the Catholic Church. This week, as we reflected with the children on his passing, we explored the enduring impact of his teachings. He encouraged us to live the Gospel values with courage and boundless love, especially towards those most in need. Pope Francis was a powerful advocate for the poor, migrants, refugees, and those affected by conflict, urging us to take a more active role in their support. His passionate calls for environmental responsibility and urgent action on climate change were significant, and above all, he emphasised that love is the centre of our Christian faith, guiding all our actions.
As we embark on this term, let us embrace the opportunities before us, guided by the wisdom and love exemplified in the life of Pope Francis.
I wish you a truly fantastic start to Term 2 and look forward to meeting you all as the term progresses.
