Our Year 10 students are keen to get some work experience in a range of fields and industries as part of their Career Development program.

We would love to hear from members of our community who might be able to host a Year 10 student this year for some Work Experience (August 4 to August 8, 2025).

If you are able to support this valuable program, please email Trish Menadue or Pete Gibson

Tassie Mums Coat Drive

The Senior School Stewardship Committee are seeking donations of old, too small/large or unused coats to the Tassie Mums Coat Drive, an organisation which helps mums and children in need. Coats must be in good condition - no fading, tears, rips or stains, please.

Donations can be placed in the allocated House boxes in the Senior Library/Senior School Office. The House with the most donated coats wins House Points!

The drive will run from next week, and into the first week of Term 2. Collect your coats over the holidays and donate!

Writer in Residence - Tasmanian Poet, Sarah Day

From Monday 7 to Friday 11 April, Tasmanian poet, Sarah Day, will be working with students across Years 7-12.

Sarah will be visiting some Senior School English classes and facilitating workshops with focus groups. Some of these workshops will specifically focus on supporting student writers; both an open invitation to participate, and extension to further develop their poetic craft.

A central theme of Sarah’s workshops will be helping students prepare entries for the 2025 Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Competition, for which the optional theme is “All the beautiful things”. Additionally, students may also consider submitting their poems to the Art2Words Writing Competition, which has a submission deadline of 4.00pm on Friday 11 April.

We trust that the various opportunities Sarah offers will inspire our students, helping them develop a deeper appreciation for poetry as a powerful literary form, and nurturing their poetic talents.

Any queries, please contact Karina Churchill Learning Leader: Senior School English or Nicola Collins: Learning Leader - Middle School
