It was terrific to see the support of so many families on Tuesday for our annual Cross-Country event. Our students put in their very best efforts on the course with families and students cheering them on. A big thank you to Ms Van Ooi for her organisation of another terrific whole school event, along with our Specialist team and House Captains who all assisted in set up and pack up to ensure the day ran smoothly.

The Cross-Country results for our House competition will be announced at next week’s end of term assembly. Congratulations to all students for their participation in this year’s Cross-Country event.
Works have commenced on the re-development of the green surface with the existing structure fully removed in a single weekend. During the first week of the school holidays, there will be alot happening with the benefit of students not being on site and the new structure will be assembled over 4-6 weeks. I have included below one of the technical drawings, to give families an idea as to what the new, fully enclosed structure will look like. It will also include some clear panels to allow for natural light. Towards the completion of the project the rubber surfacing will also be replaced with a brand new surface for students.
A reminder to all families that next Wednesday afternoon, our classroom doors are open, and families are welcome from 3.45pm – 5.15pm with students keen to share their writing pieces from all throughout Term 1, along with their individual writing goals in readiness for Term 2. I look forward to seeing many of you as we celebrate and acknowledge a wonderful first term of learning at FPPS.
Our school's AGM and first official School Council meeting for 2025 was held this week and I presented the Annual Report to School Community for 2024. The staff and I are very pleased with overall parent satisfaction for 2024 (as below) and strive to maintain a high level of communication and engagement with families for the benefit of all students. The Annual Report will be available on our school website, once endorsed by the Department.
All School Council members also undertook the annual Child Safe Standards briefing, an important element in ensuring compliance to the standards and ongoing awareness of our parent community.
Despite it being early in the year, we have already received requests for school tours for 2026. With this in mind, the following school tours have been arranged for new families who are residing in our local neighbourhood zone as we continue to be at full capacity with regards to enrolment numbers.
Families can very quickly access the Find My School website to identify their local neighbourhood school at https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/
Our student leaders will be assisting me in facilitating school tours this year and welcoming new families and students to our school.
Our School Tour dates for Term 1 and 2 are listed below:
I welcome new families from all year levels to attend.
Thursday 3rd April at 9.30am
Thursday 1st May at 9.30am
Friday 9th May at 9.30am
Friday 23rd May at 9.30am
Due to the building works, we will be holding the final assembly remotely and stream live to classrooms.
Parents are most welcome to attend in person and move to your child’s classroom to enjoy the final assembly commencing at 9.15am on Friday 4th April.
The holidays are fast approaching, and this is our final newsletter for the term. I wish all families a safe and happy holiday period.
Have a great week everyone
Mrs Cameron
