Connect in the Field at SJV

Today, teachers and leaders from more than 20 southern region schools came together at St. John Vianney’s for our Connect in the Field event. This engaging professional learning experience provided an opportunity for leaders from other schools to observe Explicit Instruction in action, with a focus on Frequent Student Responses and Checking for Understanding through the lens of Literacy. Throughout the day, participants observed effective teaching practices across different year levels:

✅ Foundation – Explicit Instruction in Phonics

✅ Year 1/2 – Explicit Instruction in Word Reading and Spelling

✅ Year 3/4 – Language Comprehension: Teaching Science Knowledge through Literacy
