What a wonderful term in 1/2SM!

Wow! What a fantastic term it has been in 1/2SM! We have been so busy getting to know each other, enjoying whole school events and of course, learning, that it was hard to decide on just a couple of things to share! Here are the highlights we decided on...

Writing

For the past few weeks, we have been learning about persuasive writing. We have learnt that this type of writing is about sharing your opinion (what you think) and trying to persuade, or convince, others to agree with you.

This week we learnt about signposting - where we use words and phrases such as "First of all", "Also" and "Finally" so the reader is clear on how many reasons we have to support our opinions. You will see these words in our work samples below.

You will see that the task also involved typing our work on Seesaw, and presenting our work with online tools and images.

Harmony Day

Recently we celebrated Harmony Day at SJV. We looked fabulous in 1/2SM - dressed up in our cultural dress or Harmony Day orange! We had fun learning how to stand up to bullies, decorating rocks to represent us, and learning and performing a dance. Check us out!
