Year 10 Nominations – Student Council

I will be calling for nominations for two Year 10 Student Councillors. This provides Year 10 students with the opportunity to either nominate themselves or to have input into who will represent their cohort. If more than two nominations are received, a vote by the Year 10 student body will be conducted.

RAC bstreetsmart

Last Tuesday, our Year 12 students travelled to the Perth Arena to take part in the RAC bstreetsmart event, joining over 9,000 students from high schools across WA.

This powerful excursion featured a realistic crash scene re-enactment attended by emergency services, providing students with a first hand look at how responders manage real-life road incidents. They also had the opportunity to hear from individuals who have been directly impacted by road trauma and engage in discussions with emergency services personnel.

The key message—making good choices on the road—was reinforced throughout the event, leaving students with a deeper understanding of road safety and responsibility.

A huge thank you to the staff who attended and supported our students throughout the day!

Vaping Presentations

This week, students attended an informative presentation by School Health Nurse Naomi Pedrochi. The session highlighted the serious health risks associated with vaping, including its impact on respiratory health and overall wellbeing.

Naomi also discussed the dangers of addiction, providing valuable insights into how nicotine affects the brain and body. Importantly, students learnt practical strategies for quitting and where to seek support if they or someone they know is struggling with vaping addiction.

Any students who would like more information or support are encouraged to book an appointment with Naomi through me.

Have a great weekend!
