Junior School Principal Report

I've enjoyed students telling me about their Easter breaks, and I hope whether you stayed at home or went away that you found it relaxing. It's hard to believe that we are already down two weeks of the term.
Not only did we have the opportunity to open our doors to the wider community, but we also got to showcase the incredible students we have here at Norwood. We’ve received so many lovely anecdotes from families who attended, sharing how helpful and caring our students were throughout the night.
A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making the night such a success. A special shout out to Holly, Eden, and Taylah for your amazing speeches in the gym. We know you were nervous, but you spoke beautifully and did a wonderful job sharing your stories and highlights of your time at Norwood.
Late last term I was in contact with Ventura about a number of things occurring on our school buses. I need to remind students that when you are traveling to and from school you are still representing our school. We expect that you are respectful to all members.
A few reminders to make life easier for everyone:
Please don't put your bags on seats which stops other students sitting down
Please ensure you walk all the way to the back of the bus to allow students to board the bus quicker
Please only use the stop buttons when you need to stop
When standing please remove your bags and have them between your legs
Please tap on coming to and from school.
The fifth one is quite important as I feel our buses are quite crowded, when dealing with the department of transport they only go off the MYKI data so if we don't tap on, we don't have any chance of getting a third bus.
Each year schools are required by the Department of Education to facilitate the Attitudes to School Survey. This will take place for students from Years 7 - 12 during a mentoring class between the following dates: Wednesday 21 May until June 4.
For further information about this survey please read the Department letter attached below.
It's getting very cold in the mornings so it's important to remember we will now be in full Winter uniform from Monday. Please ensure you are not bringing hoodies to and from school, these will be confiscated if worn on school grounds. If you are having trouble with purchasing winter uniform, please reach out to our Sub School Leaders.
