Student Attendance

Mr Bray and Miss Kvackaj

Why are we focusing on attendance this term?

Coming to school every day is important—it helps you stay connected, build your future, and discover what you're capable of. Even if school isn't your favourite place, you're not alone. There’s support available to help you find your path, overcome challenges, and make the most of your time here. You're part of a community that cares and wants to see you succeed.

This term we're focusing on attendance so we can help every student achieve for fullest potential in their education. We're hoping to work more closely with families to ensure a richer communication, positive relationships and effective teamwork around attendance.

Communication Timeline for Non-Attendance

Please see below regarding a timeline of communication from CESC to parents regarding unexplained or consecutive absences. We will be following Department of Education guidelines regarding attendance and will be following this process for each year level.

Support for Students regarding Attendance

Sometimes we understand that it can be hard to get to school. You might feel overwhelmed by the work, or things might be tough with your friends. Maybe you really dislike a teacher, or things at home aren't great. Perhaps you're feeling down or anxious and don't even really know what...whatever the situation is, staying away from school completely isn't the answer. There are lots of people who want to help, with support services also available:

  • Your parents/trusted adult family member
  • A trusted teacher or ES staff member
  • Your Year Level Coordinator
  • Wellbeing Counsellor
