Child Safety

Child Safety Standard 4: Family and Community Involvement
Child Safety Standard 4 focuses on ensuring families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing. At St John’s, we recognise that child safety is a shared responsibility and that partnerships with families are essential to creating a strong and protective culture.
How we implement this at St John’s:
- Open Communication: We maintain open and regular communication with families through newsletters, Seesaw, school events, and parent meetings, ensuring that our community is informed about our child safety practices and expectations.
- Family Involvement: Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in school life, including through the Parents in Community (PIC), classroom helpers, and participation in child-focused events and learning celebrations.
- Child Safety Information: We provide accessible information to families about our Child Safety Policies and procedures, available on our website and through induction sessions for new families.
- Consultation and Feedback: We welcome feedback from families on child safety matters and invite them to contribute to policy reviews and continuous improvement of our practices.
By working together with our families and community, we build a strong, safe, and supportive environment for all students.
