Celebrating the Success of World Down Syndrome Day! 🎉
We are thrilled to share the success of our World Down Syndrome Day celebrated last Friday, 21st March! It was a joyful and meaningful event, filled with colour, unity, and support for an important cause.
The Lots of Socks campaign was a huge hit—our students proudly showcased their bright and wonderful socks, sparking conversations about inclusion and celebrating the uniqueness of every individual.
It was heart warming to see our teachers joining in with enthusiasm, making it a truly special day for all.
We are incredibly proud of our school community for embracing this celebration with such positivity. Thank you for your support in helping raise awareness and making a difference!
Warm regards,
Amanda Bailey

Neurodiversity Celebration Week from Monday 17 March to Sunday 23 March, and Autism Acceptance Month in April are chances to celebrate and support diverse learners and reflect on how our school is meeting their needs.
Neurodiversity is an inclusive term that recognises natural differences in how we all think, process information and communicate. Most children’s brains develop in ways that are seen as typical for their age and stage.
About one in 5 children has variations in their brain development. These variations include those seen in autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia and dyscalculia. These children can be described as ‘diverse’ learners.
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a worldwide initiative that celebrates the strengths and talents of people who think and learn differently. It reminds us of the importance of being kind, accepting and inclusive of everyone.
You can use the following activities and resources to support and celebrate neurodiversity. These have been created by organisations in partnership with the department:
Autism Acceptance Month in April is a chance to celebrate, support and include autistic students. It is an offshoot of the United Nation’s sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day, which is marked on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
The Diverse Learners Hub provides evidence-based advice and resources to help schools meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with autism, ADHD and learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. There are 4 or 5 diverse learners in a typical class. Diverse learners need targeted support to ensure they have the same opportunities to learn as their peers.
The hub includes resources supporting:
We are absolutely thrilled to share some exciting news - Bimbadeen Heights PS has officially been awarded Gold Level accreditation for our School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) implementation in 2024!
That’s a three-peat—I repeat, a THREE-PEAT! 🏆🏆🏆
This Gold-level recognition shows that we have built a strong foundation for positive behaviour, with clear expectations and support systems in place for all students. It reflects our commitment to fostering a school culture that embraces our core valuesof Respect, Resilience, Integrity, and Compassion every day.
Implementing SWPBS is a multi-year journey, typically taking 3 to 5 years, and this milestone is a testament to the dedication of our staff, students, and school community in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
To celebrate this amazing achievement, we are hosting a school disco on the last Friday of term—Friday, 4th March! 🎉🎶
To make the day even more special, we invite all students to come to school dressed in something gold ✨—the glitzier, the better! We can't wait to see everyone’s sparkling outfits as we come together to celebrate this tremendous success for Bimbadeen Heights Primary School.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey—we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful school community! 💛
