Sports Update

Senior Sport
It was a fantastic day at the Division Championships, with our Senior Sport teams heading out to represent EMC. It was great to have 10 teams competing across a range of sports, showcasing the strong sporting talent within our college community. The day produced some excellent results and highlighted the effort and commitment of our students throughout the day.

Region Cricket
Following their success at the Division stage, our Senior Boys Cricket team progressed through to the Regional competition at Lloyd Park. The boys faced Melbourne High School in a T20 match. Batting first, EMC found it difficult to build momentum and finished with a total of 74. The team began well with the ball and applied early pressure, but Melbourne High School were able to chase down the total four wickets down.
Well done to the boys for their effort and for representing the College with pride.

Coby Pitts – Clay Target Shooting
Hi, I am Coby, and I have been involved in the exciting sport of clay target shooting for the past year and have quickly developed a real passion for it. Clay target shooting is a competitive sport where participants aim at clay discs that are launched into the air at high speed, requiring focus, quick reflexes, and strong hand–eye coordination.
Over the past year, I have competed in many competitions and proudly represented EMC three times and again in May this year. In January, I travelled to Tasmania to compete in their State Titles. I represent the Frankston Clay Target Club and recently achieved an exciting milestone by winning my first sash in a junior event.
Like basketball or football, clay target shooting is both a competitive sport and an enjoyable hobby. It builds discipline, patience, and responsibility, and has a strong social side through club events and competitions. Safety is the highest priority in this sport. I completed the full licensing process, including police checks, a firearms safety course, and a formal assessment to ensure I understood all safety requirements before being allowed to compete. Spending time outdoors, focusing on my goals, and being part of a supportive sporting community has been fantastic for my confidence and overall wellbeing. It would be amazing if I could get more people from EMC involved in the sport as well.
