District Cross Country Results

On Tuesday 14 May, 35 students, 3 staff, 1 pre service teacher and 2 parent volunteers made their way to Quambee Reserve in North Ringwood to partake in the district cross country.  It was a beautiful, sunny day.  For the first time our district, Warrandyte South (10 schools), combined with the Ringwood district (8 schools) to run on the same afternoon, however, results were calculated separately.  In the morning the Ringwood North district (10 schools) had their races.  As you can imagine, it was a very busy reserve – especially when 10 buses were leaving and 18 others arriving around 12pm.  Due to the calmness and patience of all drivers, spectators and competitors it seemed to all go very smoothly.

Congratulations to our District cross country runners –

12/13 year old boys: Samuel T, Edward T, Josh C, Zach B, Lachlan G and JB.

12/13 year old girls: Shella N, Evie, E, Siena C-W, Lun Bawi, Sophie S, Samantha H.

11 year old boys: Tom S, Alvin W, Blake A, Pat E, Campbell S.

11 year old girls: Savannah W, Emmy C, Soraya L

9/10 year old boys: Josh K, Khup Pi, Nick D, Cin Cin, Tom C, Ronan B, Ollie F, Harry M, Isaac W

9/10 year old girls: Zoe C, Tilly T, Kylie C, Estelle L, Eh Khu, Lacey S, Samantha H, Mala D, Alisha H

A big thank you to Dale Stuart and Olivia Thomas for helping out on the day. These events cannot run without our parent helpers.  We are truly appreciative of the time you have given to ensure all students are able to be involved in events such as this.

Mullum placed 5th overall.

St. Annes came 1st.

Ringwood Heights came 2nd.

Each school is able to enter 10 runners per race.  This year our team was a bit light on – possibly due to illness. Due our low numbers, we are pretty happy with the placing of 5th overall, and having six students qualify for the next level of competition.
