How much money we have raised

On behalf of Good Shepherd, the Year 6 Social Justice Leaders would like to thank everyone who has donated to CARITAS Australia Project Compassion. We have just counted all the money and together we have raised $400.50. With this money we will be able to help many people and be able to provide them with food, clean water, shelter and a good education.

In the Year 6 cohort, we have learnt about different people in tough situations that CARITAS Australia has helped. We read about Ronita, a young mother of two. She wasn't able to finish school so she nearly dropped out permanently but with the help of CARITAS Australia she finished her studies and now has a stable job to support her family. We all so learnt about Leaia a mother of 5 living in Samoa. Her family did not have access to clean water and were living in extreme poverty. They would use broken refrigerators to catch rainwater and use old plastic bottles to bring it back to their house. Caritas Australia´s local partner in Samoa, installed a water tank to collect clean rainwater for them. 

Thank you for donating money to Project Compassion. Even if you donated 1 dollar it added in a big way to our total of 400 dollars and 50 cents!! This all has made a huge difference to the people in need. Thank you for your donation!!!
