Deputy Principal

Wishing all mothers a wonderful day this Sunday. May your day be filled with joy and laughter with your families.

Staff Carparks during pick up

Please remember that the staff car parks are not for parents or guardians to use during afternoon pick up. This is for the safety of the children as this is where they exit the school or walk along the pavement. We ask that everyone respect this. If you have other people picking up your children please explain that the staff car parks are not to be used for the safety of the children.

Learning and Teaching Update

This term the students are exploring the concept of change through the science curriculum. The classes are exploring how science is a part of our everyday and all around us. Following are the enduring understandings / essential question that each of the levels are focusing on;

Prep; What are scientific changes in my everyday?

Grade 1/ 2; Change is constant and inevitable in all aspects of life

Grade 3/ 4; Change is a natural phenomenon that occurs in living and non-living things.

Grade 5/6; Environmental change requires structural and behavioural adaptations of living things

Today the Grade 5/6 students have participated in an excursion to the Melbourne Museum and IMax to explore how sudden geological changes or extreme weather conditions can affect Earth’s surface (natural disasters).

Staff Professional Learning - The Science of Learning (explicit Instruction)

Last term the Grades Prep to 2 teachers all participated in professional development of explicit instruction in Maths (TIMs). Teachers are now working towards embedding this within their classrooms and gaining feedback on their practice from 'Teach Well' (the  presenters of this PL).

In the next few weeks the Grades 3 to 6 teachers will also participate in the Teaching with Impact in Mathematics (TIMs) furthering their understanding of this pedagogy and implementing it in their classrooms.

2024 Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge

Login for entering your reading

It is important that the children's reading is entered into the Premier's Reading Challenge website at home. Please enter their reading in using the login for Cathoic and independent schools. If you are unsure of the books your child can read there are links to the reading list on the website. Most children's picture books and novels are accepted but the children do have to read books recognised by the Department.

I will then verify the reading once a month.
