Principal's News

Mrs Gabrielle Espenschied

Dear Parents,

What a wonderful community working bee we had last Wednesday at St Mary’s. It was such a positive day where our community gathered in action to work on our garden. A huge thank-you to Marissa Egan, Natalie Dullard and all staff and parents who participated in any way on the day.

What a special day, in so many ways, with our community connecting with the sensational team from Bunnings and many of our parents. Students participated in an incursion in their STEM and Permaculture Classes, led by the Aboriginal Learning Facilitator from the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens.

Students were engaged in an interactive presentation where they learnt about Bush Tucker, Indigenous Plants and tools used by First Nations people. Matt, our wonderful chef cooked lunch for all the volunteers, capably assisted by the Year 6 students. It was such an inspiring day as we strive to create beautiful, natural environments for our students to learn and flourish in.

Anzac Day

We invite all our community  to attend the Anzac Day parade on Thursday in respect and honour of all our Defence Force members, past and present, who serve our wonderful country. We will be meeting at 10.40am at the RSL and walking around to the cenotaph. This is a significant day in our school calendar and we would love to see as many families attend as possible. We ask students to wear their full school uniform.

New Building application

We have submitted a new capital grant application for a refurbishment of the junior classrooms, admin area and staff room which will be wonderful additions to our beautiful school. This project will follow on from stage 1 which we are currently seeing in action.

Finally, just a reminder that Friday is a pupil free day. We trust you will enjoy having time together as a family over the weekend.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
