He filled his bucket with many stickers for fantastic behaviour and was very dedicated to his classroom job of light monitor. It’s been wonderful to see Jack embrace his love of learning straight away in Term 2. He has completed some beautiful work and Jack is making an amazing effort with his sounds. He was able to write some CVC words when the class was working on some spelling, getting all the sounds correct. Well done Jack!

Jem did an absolutely outstanding job with his writing last week. When writing about a scene at the beach, he painted a picture for his reader by using amazing adjectives and included lots of detail. Keep up the wonderful work, Jem!

This week Zoe has shown amazing kindness towards her classmates. During our reading groups, Zoe helped her group members get logged on to Nessy when they were struggling. Well done Zoe!

Willow Cunningham

A Love of Learning

Willow worked so well during our maths lesson focusing on length. She was confident to measure different things around the school using a metre ruler. Willow was diligent in making sure she used the ruler correctly to find the exact length. It has been so wonderful to see Willow try her best with her classwork! Nate has applied himself conscientiously during our Matilda Novel Writing Activities. He has focused on expanding simple sentences to make them interesting by including similes, hyperboles, connectives and adding descriptive details such as what, where, when and why to explain events.

Camilla demonstrated her expert knowledge of the First Fleet in her assessment this week. Not only did she share facts about the First Fleet, she clearly explained the reasons behind needing a Penal Colony, including information about the industrial revolution and gaol overcrowding.

Yuting is a fabulous role model to all those around her. She is a hard-worker, collaborates well with others and is constantly challenging herself. We have been especially impressed with her effort on Times Table Rock Stars, earning many points for our class! Great work Yuting!

Congratulations to Ollie for displaying Bravery in Foundation E. He has been able to organise himself independently each morning with confidence and enthusiasm. Ollie did an excellent job at being a ‘Star Helper’ in FE, as he was eager to provide assistance to his teacher and peers. Well done, Ollie and keep up the fantastic work!

It was wonderful to see Liam using his leadership and teamwork skills in the team task challenge. Liam worked with his team in the challenge to make the longest paper chain. He encouraged his team to keep trying and he cooperated well with his team. Well done, Liam!

James has been making connections with his learning and should be very proud of the way he approaches learning tasks in the classroom. During our Reading session, he contributed his thoughts about the book and applied strategies to decode unfamiliar words.  Keep up the wonderful work James!

Milly shows kindness, both in and out of the classroom, every day. She is the first to lend a helping hand and assist anyone who needs it. If a friend is feeling sad, Milly is always trying to cheer them up and put a smile on their face. How lucky are we to have you 1N, Milly!

Well done to Bella for showing such great character strengths in the classroom. She has been getting involved in class discussions, always listens attentively and has been fantastic at transitions between lessons. Bella always offers a helping hand to those who need it, which was evident in our recent study ladder Maths lesson. What an amazing role model in 1S!

James has shared his excitement and passion with the class as he has read the graphic novel series, Bunny vs Monkey. With enthusiasm, he enjoyed sharing the texts with others and being extremely creative when drawing the characters!  James has demonstrated excellent teamwork qualities when working with his group during our swimming lessons. He listened courteously to his instructor, waited patiently for his team members to complete their swimming drills, and encouraged them to practise their skills and swimming strokes. Lohan shows great perseverance and persistence in everything he does. He is consistently trying his best and challenging himself, both in and out of the classroom. Thea was a superstar at our House Cross Country Carnival last week. She showed marvellous sportsmanship, cheering all her friends, peers, and Green House students on. Congratulations to Boston for displaying leadership in Foundation E. He is always willing to assist others in the classroom and takes on additional jobs with enthusiasm, displaying excellent initiative. Ivy displayed wonderful fairness at the BRPS Cross Country. She ran an amazing race coming first in the Foundation girl’s race. Ivy’s attitude and fairness she displayed was great to see.
