Kids Corner

The Kids Corner section of this fortnight’s newsletter features texts written by some of our Year 3 and 4 students. As they are quite lengthy, I am sharing the children’s introductions which are designed to ‘hook’ the reader. I trust everyone’s enjoy them just as much as I have!

The Pyramids of Egypt – by Nithish (Year 3)

The pyramids of Egypt are massive royal tombs built over 4,500 years ago, during the old King Jom period. The most iconic structures are located in the Giza pyramid complex serving three different pharaohs of the 4th Dynasty.

The pyramid of Khufu is the oldest and largest standing originally at 147m and is made out of 2.3 million limestone and granite rocks!

The Temple Gate by Max (Year 4)

One afternoon, while Link was trying to open the temple gate a voice boomed, “Link!”

He turned around, “I am Rava, I’m the one who recovered your hand!”

Rava was a ghostly blue ghost.

Rava continued, “Your hand doesn’t seem to be worthy of opening the gate. You need a sacred light! Ah yes, the shrines shall do the trick!” he boomed!

The Robot by Abisshna (Year 4)

As Jimmy’s interest with robots and drawings started to grow, his parents were saying, “How are you going to make friends?

However, Jimmy didn’t care because it was nearly night. Before he went to bed, he heard a “beep, beep” noise coming from his closet.

Jimmy ran to the closet and found a robot! He was so happy that he didn’t know what to call it. Then he decided, Sam!

Video Games by Alan (Year 4)

As Noob became more and more obsessed with playing video games, his mum and dad became worried.

“How can we stop Noob from playing video games? Dad said.

Then one strange evening, something super strange was up when Noob went into his bedroom. It was his laptop that was sucking his things and then he got sucked in as well …………. He ended up in a random game!
