KLA Feature: Year 11

As we reach the halfway point of the Year 11 academic year, we would like to acknowledge how proud we are of our students and the dedication they have shown in embracing all aspects of College life. Over the past months, the girls have approached their learning with resilience, enthusiasm and a determination to make the most of every opportunity available to them.

Our Year 11 students have been involved in a wide range of academic, sporting, cultural and co-curricular experiences, continually representing the College with pride and integrity. Students have been awarded wonderful opportunities, including acceptance into the Step Up Into Teaching Program with ACU, selection to represent NSW in the All Schools Rugby League Championships, competing in the World Cheer Championships in the United States of America, participation in the discovering aviation ambitions day hosted by Western Sydney International  Airport, and donating their hair to organisations such as Kids with Cancer Foundation, Wigs for Kids, to name just a few.

Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, through leadership opportunities or in service to others, the girls have demonstrated commitment, courage and a strong sense of community. They continue to show compassion, determination and an ability to support and uplift one another in all that they do. With young women such as these leading the way, I truly believe our future is in very good hands.

As students begin the assessment period for Term 2, your daughter may start to feel increased pressure as she balances study, co-curricular commitments, friendships, work and family responsibilities. While this time can be challenging, the support and encouragement students receive at home can make a significant difference to both their wellbeing and academic confidence.

Some practical ways families can support their daughters include:

Encouraging consistent routines for sleep, study and downtime

Providing a quiet and organised space for study where possible

Checking in regularly and listening without immediately trying to “fix” problems

Encouraging healthy habits such as exercise, hydration and regular meals

Supporting balance by allowing time for rest, social connection and activities they enjoy

Reminding students that effort, persistence and growth are just as important as results

Encouraging students to seek feedback and support from their teachers

As a Catholic learning community, we continue to encourage our young women to approach this period with courage, compassion for themselves and trust in their abilities.

As a positive way to conclude the term, we are looking forward to our upcoming Formation Day, where students will have the opportunity to pause, breathe, reflect and focus on the themes of joy and inner peace. This day is an important part of our College calendar and provides a valuable opportunity for personal and spiritual growth. We remind families that attendance is compulsory, and we are confident it will be a meaningful and rewarding learning experience for all students.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your ongoing partnership and support as we guide your daughters through this important stage of their learning journey.
