Intermediate Girls Softball Team
The Intermediate Girls had a strong day at States, playing with good communication and evident teamwork from the first pitch to the last.
They opened with a dominant 20–1 win over Frankston Secondary College, staying organised, communicating well, and supporting each other on every play.
Their second game against Northern Bay Secondary College finished 8–3. Everyone called things early and worked together to keep control of the game.
Before they knew it the girls were in the finals! The final against Gladstone Park Secondary College was the closest match of the day, ending in a tight 10–9 win. It was intense, but the girls stayed calm, kept communicating, and trusted each other in the big moments. That teamwork is what got them over the line. They were State Champions!
A great effort from the whole team and a strong result for our Intermediate softball girls!

Intermediate Girls Soccer Team
The Intermediate Girls Soccer Team put on an outstanding display of skill, teamwork and sportsmanship at the recent competition, securing two dominant victories to advance to the EMR Division Day in August.
The team defeated Wheelers Hill Secondary College 10–0 before backing up their performance with an impressive 10–2 win over Wellington Secondary College. Throughout both matches, the girls showcased exceptional athleticism, ball control and game awareness. Their ability to create space, move defenders and link together with accurate passing made them a constant threat in attack and a difficult team to stop.
What was most pleasing to see was the team's commitment to playing as a unit. The players communicated effectively, supported one another and demonstrated excellent decision-making on the field. Their hard work at training and willingness to work for each other were evident in every phase of play.
A special thank you to Gabi for coaching the team on the day while I took on the role of team manager. Gabi did a fantastic job organising positions, ensuring all players received equal playing time and supporting the girls to perform at their best. Her leadership and encouragement were greatly appreciated by both the students and staff.
Congratulations to all players on a fantastic achievement. We look forward to watching the team represent our school at the EMR Division Day in August and wish them every success.
Well done to our top goal scorers for the day: Stevie 7 and Cynthia 6, they couldn’t have done it without the defence turning over possession to our team.

Division Cross Country
On Tuesday, 19 May, our wonderful Cross-Country team travelled to Norton’s Park for a fantastic day of competition. In true cross-country fashion, the weather delivered everything from morning fog to rain and sunshine throughout the day.
All of our runners represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating resilience, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. We are thrilled to congratulate the 30 students who have now progressed through to the Regional Championships.
The 16–20 Year Boys tackled a gruelling 5km course featuring multiple challenging hills, while all girls and the Under 13–15 Boys competed in a difficult and hilly 3km course. Every student should be proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.

Brentwood’s team uniforms are being taken hostage!
That’s right we have numbered team tops that have been worn on sports days that have not been returned after competition. We need these uniforms back for future teams to compete.
Parents please check in your son/daughter’s cupboards, drawers and even under their beds for the Brentwood football jumpers, soccer/hockey tops, athletics singlets, basketball tops and socks. All tops can be returned anonymously to the main office.
Thanks for you help!
