The Amazing Microwaves 

Over the last two weeks we have been able to use the new microwave system just outside the performing arts centre. Students can have their own food microwaved on their year-level scheduled day, which has been a great success! Many students have enjoyed having their food warmed up, especially on the cold days we’ve had. 

There have been some highlights of meals by the students managing the microwaves, such as a bag of popcorn and left over chicken curry.  The sky is the limit with the microwaves, only liquids and metals are unable to be heated. Please remember to be wise and responsible with this as it can be taken away if misused.  

Thank you to Heathmont Talks for allowing students to raise their ideas about having warm lunches. The student lead group decided on the most efficient way to run the microwaves, put together the timetable and many members volunteer to manage the microwaves.  

Looking forward to seeing where the future of student initiative will lead us!

If students have any concerns or ideas about the school please come to the student lead meetings every second Friday, starting again in term 4. We would love to have you and would appreciate any contributions.
