Maroondah Student Voice Forum
As an opportunity through school I participated in a program not that long ago with Maroondah Council. They then asked me if I would be interested in partaking in their program MYWA. MYWA stands for Maroondah Youth Well-being Advocates, through this program the group of us involved get to have a say and place our opinions on council plans and initiatives.
We also got to create and run the second Maroondah Student Voice Forum. We worked weeks trying to make the forum amazing and involved changing things and making it interactive for those participating. Answering questions teachers wanted to know and making plans for change on a range of topics, planning creative ways and picking what we'd facilitate. From all of the MYWA member and the youth staff we thought the day ran better then we'd ever expected having a great range of students from year 7-12 giving their ideas and sharing different school experiences. Overall it was an amazing day and an extraordinary experience!!
