Book Week

Last week, we celebrated Book Week in our school. There was a fabulous display in the office with the tops of many familiar heads hidden by a range of the staff’s favourite books.Throughout the week, every class was challenged to guess the bookworm behind the book. The classes with the most correct won some cool prizes.

On the Friday 25th August, the whole school dressed up as their favourite book characters and even the teachers and Mrs Jones dressed up too. Before recess the whole school met in the quadrangle and had a book day parade. If you looked around you would see so many famous and well known characters from some of our favourite books. The staff dressed up as 101 Dalmatians and even Cruella De Vil made a surprise appearance. All of the classes went around and showed off their amazing costumes.

Every class also had a mystery reader come and read to them in the afternoon. There were a wide range of wonderful people from the school community that came to read a book to each class. The Year Six students were read the book, ‘Rose Meets Mr Wintergarden,’ by a little old lady wearing a mask. They were especially surprised when the little old lady removed her mask to reveal... Mr Wilson underneath!!

Everyone had an amazing day and had lots of fun dressing up.
