STEM
We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding a new project that will enhance the natural beauty and biodiversity around Port Melbourne Primary School. We are collaborating with the Melbourne Pollinator Corridor and The Heart Gardening Project to create a fantastic pollinator-friendly site on our school's nature strip located on Poolman Street. The Melbourne Pollinator Corridor is an initiative dedicated to creating spaces that support and protect native pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, while also promoting a healthy ecosystem for our community. We are excited to be a part of this initiative and contribute positively to our local environment.
Request for Cardboard:
To kick-start this project, we are seeking your support. We kindly request donations of flattened cardboard boxes. The cardboard will be used to smother the grass on the designated site, preparing it for planting. This method is an environmentally friendly way to eliminate the grass and create a clean slate for our pollinator-friendly garden. Please bring your cardboard to the STEM room either before or after school.
We greatly appreciate your support in making this project a success. Together, we can create a thriving environment that benefits both our children and the wider community. Stay tuned for further updates as the project progresses!
If you have any questions or would like to get involved in this project, please feel free to contact me via email or catch me after school one day.
