From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Parents and Carers

What an awesome afternoon we had at the Learning Journey yesterday at St Helena's Catholic Primary School! Thank you to all our parents and caregivers who were able to make it along to check out all the work your child/ren have been doing this year. Our classrooms were well attended, as well as our Specialist Spaces, Art Exhibition in the Undercover Area and the Book Fair in the Library. Our students were very very excited to show you around. Our Creative Movement Dancers and Choir were very entertaining as well. Thank you to our students for so proudly displaying your many God given gifts and talents!

A huge thank you to all our amazing staff who put a great deal of effort into ensuring a variety of displayed work was available for you all to enjoy around the school. Thank you to Mrs Mukami Ireri for her efforts in putting together the wonderful Art Exhibition, showcasing the students creations. It was a great community event and awesome to see so many of our families in attendance!

We have had another busy couple of weeks, as we celebrated Book Week last week. The students and staff looked great in their costumes. So many creative people at St Helena's. Thank you Mrs Krystie Clark for coordinating the week and the activities for the students to partake in. Lots of fun! Thanks also to Mrs Turpin for coordinating the Book Fair and to all our families who purchased from it. The extra funds raised will go back into purchasing more books for our SHCPS Library.

It was great to see so many dads and father figures at our Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy last Friday. Thank you to all our staff who assisted in making the morning such a success, in particular to our Father's Day Staff Team.

With the Breakfast Club coming to an end next Wednesday, I would like to acknowledge and thank Bruce Hoar and Make a Difference WA for their support in providing this service within our school. I would also like to thank Eva, Rikki and Barbara who have volunteered their time to organise and run Breakfast Club. Thank you so much. It has been very much appreciated!

We welcome onto staff our new Finance Officer Ms Christine Sheen who will commence in a full-time capacity at the commencement of Term 4. We also welcome Mr Simon Gilyead onto staff as our Grounds and Maintenance person, commencing next Monday.

Looking forward to next week's Jumps and Throws Day (Year 3 to Year 6) on Tuesday and our Athletics Carnival on Friday for our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students. The students, staff and Mrs Hesse are all pumped! We are still looking for more helpers, please read on, and if you are coming along, please volunteer some of your time.

Keep in our prayer our Year 6 students and children in the Parish who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation this Sunday at 11:30am and 3:00pm Masses.

Dear Lord,

Open my heart and my mind as I prepare for Confirmation.

Help me to know that you are confirming all the goodness that I am,

and all the goodness that I will become.

Increase my desire to know and follow Jesus as his disciple

with a grateful and courageous heart.

Amen
