Primary School

From the Head of Primary

Try a Sport Day

On Wednesday, our Year Six students ventured to the annual Try a Sport Day Carnival organised by the Regional Sports Development officers. Students were able to experience mini carnivals in hockey, soccer, basketball and AFL. Thank you to Mr Berryman for coordinating the day and to Mr Osborne and Mr Hardey for coaching our soccer and hockey teams. Highlights of the day were Hockeyroos star Penny Squibb meeting our students and seeing many unknown sporting talents being uncovered.

ECC Father’s Day Morning

Fathers, father figures and role models alike were celebrated today in our ECC. Thank you to our ECC teachers for running such a fun and engaging morning and to Chef Nick for the amazing BBQ.

School Values

Our school value focus for the past fortnight has been 'Integrity' – being honest and trustworthy. Well done to the following students for receiving a certificate for showing the school value of integrity: Abbie Cameron, Annie Christidis, Maddie McCutcheon, Lachlan Pages and Lilly Taylor.

'Respect' – being considerate and kind, is our value in focus for the next fortnight. Students can show respect for themselves, others and the environment.

ECC Star Awards

Well done to our ECC Stars of the Week: Oakley Pyle, Phoebe Weatherill, George Grosshans and Nina De Giambattista.

Primary School Student Achievements

Well done to Samuel Forgus (Year Four), Kalarney Williams (Year Six) and Malachy Williams (Year Four) on their short course swimming achievements in Perth over the weekend. The boys brought home a very large collection of medals for achieving top three in many of their races. Stephanie Forgus and Faolan Williams (Year Two) also swam at the meet, representing themselves and GSG in the Under Seven category. Well done, a mammoth effort to train, travel to Perth and be bright and ready for school on a Monday morning. Thank you for sharing your achievements with us.

Congratulations to Denby Sharpe and Bryce Galos (Year Six) who attended Tennis Australia’s Camp Courage Leadership camp this week. We look forward to watching your tennis journey.
