5/6 WG
Bayside District Lightning Premiership
Our students had the opportunity to participate in Soccer or Netball last week at Jubilee Park and Ballam Park. It was great to see the students give their all to the games and show respect to the other schools that attended.
A reminder that we have our final interschool sports game coming up this Friday at Frankston Primary School. We will walk there and back.
Mathematics
To end our term, we have focused on understanding decimals. The students have enjoyed playing a warm-up game where they use mathematical language to guess the decimal. We have also been locating and ordering decimals on a number line. Additionally, they have enjoyed playing our "Decimat" game, where students add decimals.
Writing
This week, we explored different types of poems. Students had the opportunity to learn about Haikus and Limericks. They enjoyed the process and loved using their creativity with various words!
Gabriel - Limerick
There once was a man named Jim
He was very tall and slim
He played with a ball
And made a quick call
Then he jumped in a bin
Allira - Limerick
There was a evil man named Bob
He always liked to steal and rob
He stole all the money
He thought that was funny
He got caught then started to sob
Term 2 is almost at an end and we have accomplished so much. We hope you all have a safe and restful holidays and we can't wait to see you back in Term 3!
