Week 10 Term 2

Year 3/4 Sustainability Conference

During our Inquiry work this term, all students have been learning about how we can positively and negatively impact our environment. We have visited Moonlit Sanctuary on an excursion and learned about endangered animals worldwide. Next week, the Year 3/4s will be hosting their 2024 Sustainability Conference. At this conference, students will have the opportunity to teach others about their chosen endangered animal and outline ways to raise awareness of their plight. Students have created amazing posters and slideshows to share their knowledge. Additionally, some students have written thanksgiving prayers, expressing gratitude to God for the beautiful world in which we live. Parents are welcome to join us next Wednesday, 26th June from 2:30pm

The photos below show the studetns working on a variety of posters and Google slideshows to demonstrate their learning.

Thanksgiving Prayer

As mentioned, the students have beautifully crafted Thanksgiving prayers dedicated to our Earth. Their insightful work in our Education in Faith classes has seamlessly connected with our ongoing Inquiry learning. This integration not only deepens their understanding of faith and stewardship but also enriches their exploration of environmental issues and responsibilities. We are proud of their thoughtful reflections and look forward to nurturing their continued growth in both faith and knowledge. Here are a couple of examples:

Term 2 Review

It has been a most wonderful term! There have been so many great learning experiences both in and out of the classroom. We saw some of our Year 3/4 peers celebrate the Sacrament of First Holy Communion at St Francis Xavier Church. We had our Moonlit Sanctuary excursion, and there were two incursions: one with the team from Project Rockit and the other with Garden and Kitchen. Earlier in the term, some students were given the opportunity to represent the school at the District Field Athletics and District Cross Country. Ms Tara organised an AFL skills clinic for PE and we got to celebrate our beautiful Mum's at the Mother's day Mass. Term 3 promises to be another great term and we can wait to get started! Some things to look forward to include Book Week, Life Education Van, Father's Day breakfast and Kaboom Sports!

Have a great Winter break

Kind regards,

Brendan
