Weekly Overview

Last week our students were captivated by a Brisbane high school band - St Joseph's Nudgee Band, that rocked our socks off. Their talent and skill with multiple instruments sparked enthusiasm in the crowd from Kindergarten to Year 10. Our students at HTS applauded with energy and buzz and conducted themselves with great pride and respect throughout the performance. 

The frost has certainly arrived. We encourage all students to wear the school jumpers and jackets to stay warm. If your child is unable to wear the school uniform in its entirety, please send a note with an explanation.  

Not long to go now until it's the Holidays! 

Year 3-6 Social 

There is a Yrs 3-6 Social night planned for students on the 27 June 2024 from 5pm -7pm (THIS THURSDAY). There will be active supervision from HTS staff and a canteen that will sell goodies. Students must be dropped off and picked up from the car park. The cost is $2 per child and $3 for a family.

Understanding the New Curriculum for 3-6

As we almost conclude our Semester (Terms 1 and 2), we bring to your attention to the different wording and breakdown of the English and Mathematic components for Years 3-6 (Stage 2 and 3). Our teachers have been delivering creative and engaging ways for students to engage in learning with clear connections to the NSW Syllabus. Below is a range of sub-strands and key focus areas that define these in more detail.

We encourage families to help continue the support they provide to their children. As teachers, we value the time and effort that is placed into many of our students as we all want students of HTS "to live life to the full" and "become literate and numerate students with a hope-filled future!"

ICAS - Assessment Platform (Available to Years 3-10)

 We encourage you to consider entering your child into ICAS this year.  

 How to participate in ICAS  If you wish for your child to participate in ICAS this year, please:

2. Go to Parent Portal to purchase tests here:(shop.icasassessments.com/pages/pps)  

3. Enter our school’s access code – [insert access code]  (Our code is XEQ247)

4. Enter your child’s details, select the tests you would like to purchase.

All payments must be done online as this is an external assessment.
