Parent Information

Semester 1 Reports

We're excited to share your child's Semester 1 reports with you. These reports provide valuable insights into your child's academic progress throughout the first half of the school year.

Understanding the Report:

  • Overall Achievement: These reflect your child's current understanding and application of the Australian Curriculum standards in each content area.
  • Effort: This section reflects your child's work habits and engagement in each content area.

Using the Report for Success:

These reports are a great opportunity to:

  • Celebrate your child's achievements! Acknowledge their hard work and areas where they've excelled.
  • Discuss areas for growth. Work with your child to set goals and identify strategies for continued improvement.

For any further questions or concerns, or if you are looking for direction in exploring ways to support your child's learning journey, reach out to your child's classroom teacher.

We believe in fostering a strong partnership between home and school. By working together, we can ensure your child continues to thrive academically throughout the year

.

Please note: Reports will be available to view via the TASS Parent lounge today

Father's Day Stall

Hello School Community,

As the Father’s Day Stall Team, we are excited to start planning for the stall which is coming up in Week 6 Term 3! How exciting!

There's a couple of things we'd like to communicate at this point:

* We are looking for 2-3 team members to join our team. We meet occasionally in person; we are in regular online communication with each other otherwise; we work well together as a team, drawing on each other's giftings and strengths. We are specifically looking for someone to help coordinate the raffle, but what we are looking for is not limited to that.

Please be in touch with Sarah Pound croc0027@hotmail.com or Jodi Quast quast.jodi@gmail.com if you are interested.

* The DATES for Father’s Day Stall are

Tuesday 27th Aug, Wed 28th and Thurs 29th August 12 - 3pm.

Please take note of these if you intend to volunteer at the stall.

* We would love the parent community to be involved again by donating homemade gifts for the Stall. We had such beautiful gifts donated for the Mothers day stall and are very grateful for this. We are looking forward to contributions now for the Fathers Day Stall. Please deliver them to the front office for pickup and contact one of the team members so we are aware of what's been donated.

Thank You all.

School Absences

Please don't forget, if your child is going to be absent from school you will need to notify both their classroom teacher and the front office. This can be done via email. The front office email is: admin@gspv.sa.edu.au

ICAS Online Competitions

* * * Cut-off date for registration is July 15th so make sure you get in touch before that date if your child would like to participate * * *

Dear Stage 3 & 4 Parents/Caregivers,

Each year at Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista, we offer an opportunity for our students to participate in the ICAS Online Competitions. These are academic competitions that give students the chance to test their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in Digital Technologies, Maths, Science and Writing. These competitions will take place in August this year

Participation is optional. This is an opportunity for students who wish to challenge and extend themselves.

If your child is interested in this opportunity, or if you have further questions, please get in touch with me via email  (jared.grierson@gspv.sa.edu.au) or come see me in person. You can find me in the office near the library.

Jared Grierson

Teaching and Learning Leader

This helps us ensure that your child is safe and accounted for, and that we have the correct information regarding their absence.

Growing Faith at Home

What gives you hope? Have you ever thought, “How am I going to do this”? A life of faith does not always experience happy, joyous times. How does your faith keep you going when things aren’t going well? Here some questions to ponder and discuss with your family from this week’s GFH resource.

God bless you!

Step Up to Communion

Young people aged around 10 years, together with their parents/caregivers, are invited to take part in our Step Up program to prepare for Holy Communion. Taking the approach that parents/ carers are the primary faith developer in their children, Step Up is designed to support parents/carers in preparing their child for Holy Communion.

This course will be offered next term over 4 consecutive Friday nights (August 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd). The actual Step Up service will take place on August 25th at 10.30 am. If you are interested, please contact Georgie

Look forward to hearing from you.
