Year 3/4 Learning Reflection

Last week, Grade 4 students had a wonderful time at Melbourne Zoo, learning about the environment and how animals adapt to each season.

4B, in Maths, worked together to play the Renaming Game. Each student was given two thousand blocks and had to swap them for other MAB blocks. The game's objective was for students to rename their blocks to build a house.

During paired fluency, 3B worked on segmenting and blending words with the /ee/ sound.

Grade 3/4 students have started Extended Code. We've been exploring spelling combinations for the /ae/ and /ee/ sounds.

In Social and Emotional Learning, students have been learning problem-solving strategies with their friends. We discussed how some strategies are more effective than others.

In Writing, we have been learning about run-on sentences.

On Wednesday, 4A were visited by their Big Buddies from Brimbank Council. We had a fantastic time getting to know them and playing games together. Some of the activities we enjoyed included:

  • Two truths and a lie
  • Boggle
  • School tour
