Gisborne Food Bank / MRRAR
Hello everyone,
Macedon Primary School has been working with Gisborne Foodbank for a number of years. They provide a wonderful service to our community, including supporting a number of families across Macedon Primary School.
Given the current cost of living pressures the demand for Foodbanks services has increased substantially.
I had the pleasure of spending some time at Food Bank last week, to see firsthand the enormity of support they offer the community. I had the opportunity to speak with the wonderful team leading Gisborne Foodbank, a number of volunteers and people using their service.
In the foyer of our school we have collection baskets for Foodbank. I would like to encourage anyone who is able to donate any staples such as. Long-life milk, breakfast cereals, instant soups, pasta’s, sauces and any tinned products are in particularly high demand. Sandwich spreads such as honey, peanut butter or jams are also popular. Any cleaning products, sponges or toilet paper are in demand as well.
The cumulation of many ‘one off’ donations make a considerable difference. If you are able to spare on small item from ‘time to time’. Please feel free to send any donations with children to drop into the tubs.
Kind Regards ~
