City of Monash Junior Advisory Committee

Yesterday our school captains took part in a Monash Council Junior Advisory Committee. The project aims to allow all residents of Monash, including children aged 6 to 12 years, to participate in decision making and the future vision for Monash. Our students were among students from four schools in the City of Monash to take part in this democratic event.

Sickness at school

A reminder to parents, please do not send your child to school if they are coughing or unwell.

If your child is coughing whilst at school, they will be given a mask to wear.  If the cough is continuing, we will contact you to collect them.

There is so much winter illness going through the school at the moment, this is our best defence against spreading illness.

School Swimming Program

Starting in next week, all children will be participating in the School Swimming Program being held at Monash Aquatic Centre in Glen Waverley which will go through until the last week of Term 3.

Please go to your PAM and give permission for your child/ren to attend if you have not done so already.

Children will need to bring a small backpack with bathers, towel and goggles in addition to their school bag.  We suggest that students who are not in a one piece costume should wear bathers to school under their sports uniform.

Parents may come and watch from the stands, but unless you are registered to help, you cannot enter the swimming change rooms, even if it is to help your child.  You also cannot take your child to the public changerooms as we need to account for all of the children all of the time whilst at the centre. If parents wish to take their child home directly from the pool, they will need to see the relevant teacher and sign out their child

All other Children will return to school by bus after the swimming lessons.

Study Tour

This week we welcomed Rachel, Bob, Bobby, Ling, John, Harry and Eric to the St. Christopher’s community. These students from China are taking part in a study tour at our school for a couple of weeks. They are hoping to gain an understanding of what it is like to attend school in Australia. It has been wonderful to see so many of our students welcome this group and go out of their way to make them feel comfortable and included.

New Playground

The order for the new senior playground has been placed and we are expecting it to be installed week 2 of next Term 4. Thanks to everyone who contributed their ideas. The playground design can be seen below. We are all very excited about this new school facility.

Baby News

Congratulations to the D'Cruz family on the birth of Anthony last week. Anthony and mum Gosia are both well. Anthony is the younger brother of Cristian - Year 2, Caitlin (Prep - 2025) and Sebastian.

If you have any concerns regarding your child, please see their teacher or myself.

Enjoy the weekend
