Principal's News
Dear Parents and Carers,
I wanted to start this newsletter by thanking our families for persisting with school attendance. Since our last newsletter, we have seen a reduction in the number of students who are absent without explanation.
Furthermore, I would like to say that we have 28 students at our school who have attended school 96% of the time or more throughout the year. With a special mention to two students who have been at school every day! This has been an achievement, especially when there has been a lot of illness within our community.
If your child is absent, please continue to send a notification on Compass or contact the school office. This focus on attendance applies to not just our school but all schools within our diocese, as policies are in place to continue to meet legislation regarding student attendance.
Below, you will find some information regarding recent and upcoming events that are happening or have happened at school:
Narrabri Arts Eisteddfod
On Wednesday, 29th May, Jillian Cruckshank and Poppy Wall participated in the Eisteddfod at the Crossing Theatre in Narrabri. Jillian and Poppy received first place for their Poem for 2 (Year 3) by reciting a passage from James and the Giant Peach as Aunt Spike and Aunt Sponge. Well done!
Gary McSweeney Cup & ADPSC Rugby Union trials
On Friday, 31st May, Lincoln Baird, Campbell Collett and James Gleeson travelled to Tamworth to participate in the Gary McSweeney Cup & ADPSC Rugby Union trials. Well done to all the students for their efforts and sportsmanship, and a special mention to James Gleeson, who has been selected to compete for the Armidale Diocese at the Polding Rugby trials in Forbes.
Science & Engineering Challenge
On Tuesday, 4th June, Stage 3 staff and students travelled to Narrabri to participate in the Northwest Science & Engineering Challenge with other schools in the area. The students had a great time and placed second. Well done!
Future Enrolments Parent Information Night
On Wednesday, 12 June, we held our annual Future Enrolments Parent Information Night. It was great to see existing and new families attend.

NAIDOC Week Celebration
This year, our NAIDOC Week Celebration will be held on Friday, 5 July, from 9:15 am to 10 am.
Students are invited to dress in Indigenous patterns or NAIDOC colours. The day will begin with a ceremony and blessing of our new indigenous garden and yarning circle, followed by a Liturgy and Morning Tea, with cake, tea and coffee provided. All families are welcome to attend.
The students will then participate in various activities throughout the day, run by our Aboriginal Education Assistants Darcy Lang and Caitlin Smith, as well as special visitors.
Athletics Carnival
This is a reminder that we will hold our Athletics Carnival on Thursday, 25th July, at Cook Oval. We will hold the High Jump event before the carnival on Thursday, 27th June. Please see News and Notices and the Compass app for further information.
Have a great weekend.
God Bless,
