Parent Information

Welcome back Mr. Humphrys!

This week we welcomed back Mr. Brett Humphrys (Deputy Principal) after a time of leave, following the birth of his third child. Brett and his wife (Lauren) welcomed Jack into the family, and at this stage, all is going well! We pray every blessing for the Humphrys family and all the best for this busy and exciting time.

We invite you to join us for Week 6 Assembly!

2K Mrs Kluge is hosting assembly in Week 6 on Wednesday 5th June where there will be a focus on Child Safety and URSTRONG.

Men n Minors Camp - Feedback

Our much-loved and ever popular 'Men n Minors Camp' was back for 2024, with lots of tired but happy kids excitedly telling us all about the fun they had when they returned to school.

There was lots of food, fun and laughs shared, as well as lots of planning and setting up to make the camp run as successfully and smoothly as possible.

To ensure the continuation and success of this camp, and see improvements if/where necessary, we invite the GSPV men that participated to share their honest feedback via the link before Friday 31st May.

Thank you for joining us in creating some wonderful memories with your children, and other GSPV men and minors.

ICAS Online Competitions

Dear Stage 3 & 4 Parents/Caregivers,

Each year at Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista, we offer an opportunity for our students to participate in the ICAS Online Competitions. These are academic competitions that give students the chance to test their higher order thinking and problem-solving skills in Digital Technologies, Maths, Science and Writing. These competitions will take place in August this year

Participation is optional. This is an opportunity for students who wish to challenge and extend themselves.

If your child is interested in this opportunity, or if you have further questions, please get in touch with me via email  (jared.grierson@gspv.sa.edu.au) or come see me in person. You can find me in the office near the library.

Cut-off date for registration is July 15th so make sure you get in touch before that date if your child would like to participate.

Sincerely,

Jared Grierson

Teaching and Learning Leader

School Absences

Please don't forget, if your child is going to be absent from school you will need to notify both their classroom teacher and the front office. This can be done via email. The front office email is: admin@gspv.sa.edu.au

This helps us ensure that your child is safe and accounted for, and that we have the correct information regarding their absence.

Siblings

If you have not yet submitted an enrolment application for any siblings of current students, please do so as soon as possible to ensure a position is available, the sooner the better! Your prompt attention to this is greatly appreciated. Enrolment applications can be collected and returned to the front office.

Growing Faith at Home

This coming Sunday is known as ‘Trinity Sunday’ in the Christian calendar. Christians believe in One God, who is Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. (A little tricky to get your head around, but here is an illustration that might help: Think of 3 candle flames coming together to make one flame.)

Today’s Growing Faith at Home resource is entitled ‘We are children of God and heirs with Christ’... Weighty words that give an amazing sense of belonging and purpose!

Here are some conversation starters you might like to try out with your family...

What details do you know about your birth?

Name some people who were very excited when you were born?

Enjoy the resource and have a wonderful week!
