Three-Year-Olds
This week the children have been working and playing beautifully together with lots of productive learning and exploration happening. We have been using the power of pretending to engage in drama and song. We have used scarves to explore shape, size and transformation as we turn our scarves into other objects. We have also begun making bowerbird kites as we continue our exploration of printing using found objects.
Four-Year-Olds
Budja - We have had fun with science as we looked at how rainbows are made and did some light experiments to make our own rainbows with torches and jars of water. The children have been playing board games and showing teamwork as they constructed marble runs and bamboo houses.
Marram - The box construction continues to be popular. The children have been enjoying cutting, glueing and selecting a variety of craft material, which promotes their artistic expression. They have been enthusiastic about taking different roles in our new home corner. Outdoors, the children enjoyed walking on stilt buckets to practise their balance, hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills.
Gawarn- We had a very busy and productive week at Kinder with our Gawarn class. We explored the concept of gratitude with the children, inviting each child to share one thing about kinder that made them happy or filled up their hearts. Most of the children shared that it was a friend or others that made them happy. We extended on this during our Thursday group time, rolling a piece of string from one child to another and using this as a metaphor for connection. We are all connected to one another, and our actions- either kind or other are felt by all of us in the classroom.
