Specialist Feature News: Indonesian

Selamat siang,

Over the last few weeks, Foundation have been learning about the WILD animals of Indonesia, learning through fact files, pictures and videos. This week, students did play based learning around what they have learnt, and can say if they like or dislike that animal in Indonesian.

1/2 students are finishing up on writing stories in Indonesian! They have focused on creating an introduction, problem and a solution they can describe in Indonesian. What problem solvers!

3/4 students have just completed their portfolios about describing what a person looks like and have begun a unit on Indonesian art. Over the next few weeks, students will choose what they want to make around the themes of nature, Indonesian culture and repeated patterns.

This week, 5/6 students also completed their comics demonstrating what was happening in their Ordering at a Restaurant script from the previous weeks. We also practised this in real life in our kitchen program - where students made food and then ordered what they wanted to try out of mie goreng, jus and klepon (fried noodles, juice and klepon, a glutinous rice sweet).

Have a wonderful week everyone!

Terima Kasih,

The Specialist Team
