The Year 9's have just completed their first set of formal exams. We are so proud of the excellence, respect and responsibility they showed in their preparation and undertaking of these exams.
Year 9 SELF classes ended on a high this week with our termly ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ lesson, where students selected a range of activities including sport, art, puzzles, reading, movie and a very challenging Virtual Escape Room which saw some outstanding critical thinking skills on display. We congratulate 9C for winning the Term 2 competition with the most green chronicles – it was a very close contest with only three green chronicles separating first and second. 9C will enjoy a pizza lunch as a reward for their efforts, but we’re so proud of the whole cohort who cumulatively collect 536 green chronicles for Term 2!
We look forward to a busy Term 3 with students making their course selections for Year 10, including applications for VCE enrichment. Students will begin planning their City Experience Week through SELF which will be early Term 4. Students will also get to have their Morrisby career meetings, where they will have a chance to unpack their profiling data and explore career options.
The Year 9 Team.
Throughout SELF lessons this term, the Year 9 cohort has completed the Morrisby Testing. This test helped us look at career pathways for Year 10 and beyond and allowed us to think about what we would like to do in the future. Next term we will receive our results and talk with a career counsellor for further support.
The past couple of weeks we have also completed our first ever exams. We completed English and Math exams as a cohort and the rest in our respective classes. These exams prepare us and give an idea of how they will run in Years 10,11 and 12.
As the semester comes to an end, so do our electives. We have enjoyed getting the opportunity to take classes in a range of areas and look forward to new electives next term.

Year 9 Technology
For our formal end of term assessment, Year 9 Woodwork students used the Misty model of writing to produce a designer statement as a way to evaluate their finished product. What follows is a finished designer statement completed by Charlie A. of 9C and colour pictures of boards.
